I always thought Star Wars borrowed liberally from Dune.


at least the imagery, Sand Worms, dry planets w/protective clothes (eg stillsuits) Imperial councils stuff, practicing fighting against little globes so I wouldn't be surprised if Boba Fett does the same stuff, I would imagine anyone who had to do science fiction writing for a show would be well versed in Dune for ideas.
